Exactly one week from today I will be driving down to Charlotte to spend the night because my flight leaves at 6 A.M on Wednesday! I am so excited!! I have everything I need and just need to work on packing! A girl I have been speaking with arrived at Harnas last week. She sent me a message saying that it is cold at night and after reading her blog (with help from google translation :-) ) learned that it is really hot in the day time.
It hasn't yet sunk in that I am really going. I've been talking about it for so long that I can't believe it's really here. I don't think it will hit me until I am either on the flight or in the airport in Johannesburg. It seems so surreal to sit here thinking about what will happen. Everyone who has been there says their time there changed them and that their lives were never quite the same after. I have no doubt it will do the same for me. I don't know how it couldn't but it seems a little bizarre anxiously waiting a month knowing there's a good chance I won't be the same two months from now.
